Drowes Salmon Fishery Leitrim

Davey Elliot had this sea liced 9 lbs fish from the old Sea Pool this morning on fly. The past 2 days have been dry and pretty mild. The water level, while still high has dropped to 0.8 metres on the gauge.

Warning to Anglers with regards to recording Kelts caught


Warning..... IFI are handing out fines to unsuspecting people who do not record that a Kelt was caught. A tourist was recently fined 150euro on the Cork Blackwater by a member of IFI for not recording immediately the rod caught and safely returned kelt.

Anti Salmon Farm Protest on March 2nd 2013


Lets Say No Salmon to Farms at Sea
Date: Saturday, March 2, 2013 convening for 12.00 midday.
Place: Gathering at Eyre Square, Galway.


March through the town to the Claddagh where we will meet the boatmen with their boats and then on to the Galway Bay Hotel in Salthill. The hotel is the venue for the Skipper Expo and BIM will also be present at the show which may possibly be attended by Minister Simon Coveney or another minister.

The groups that were present at today's meeting and who will be co-operating jointly for this protest are as follows:-

FISSTA Federation of Irish Salmon & Seatrout Anglers
NARA National Anglers Representative Association
TAFI Trout Anglers Federation of Ireland
SAVE BANTRYBAY
